WebEchoing what others have said, don't use a bivy in summer on the AT. Get a tarp, and net tent or bug bivy. The MLD is a good choice, and Borah makes a nice one as well. While a bathtub floor is a good idea, you still pretty much want mesh all around, for circulation, in temps above about 50 degrees.

WebI have a Borah bug bivy and its a really nice piece of gear. Just realize what you're getting is basically a sack, there is not much structure to it. Something I didn't realize (my fault) when I got it was that there is not a bathtub style floor. So when you stake it out, the seem where the mesh meets the floor of the bivy is at ground level.
